The makers of the zines that were used to source these images, and the members of the bands and local communities devoted themselves to the scene, without them, the scene wouldn’t remain punching to this day. The paper passing of information, the word of mouth, the trading of bootleg cassette and home-modification of merch, all of this gives scenes like this a longevity and energy that has persisted against adversity. The pure resilience and variety of a scene like this deserves to be championed and this archive aims to collate that in tribute to all that has come before and all that continues to grow.
